It is my opinion that there is no such thing as luck. There is preparation, placement, choices, and opportunities. Such as being in the right place, at the right time, with the right skills, and an opportunity presents itself. However, the key to it all is the choices that are made, in that place and at that time. On this 4th of July, I am humbled to look back upon the legacy of those who have come before us and for the choices they made. And I realize that I am standing on the Shoulders of Giants. My Grandfather Lamb once told my Father that all he wanted was for his son to "be better than I am." And so he works hard, even now, to live up to that standard in his life. I too have taken up that standard and I struggle with it everyday. Because I have a daughter who one day I want to be better than I am. Isn't that the American Dream?
On this Independence Day it is my hope and prayer that everyone has the courage and the abilities to step up and make the right choices so that our children will one day stand in freedom and peace. All the best to you and yours.
