The test to be a parent.

I think that anyone who is wanting to adopt or have a child in any other way should first have to substitute teach in an elementry school for a week. To help out my Mother get ready for my sisters wedding I am taking over her class for the week. Needless to say so far it has been a challenge for me. There have been highs and there have been lows. Everyday is different and each child has something special about them. I feel that if you can survive and make the lesson plan work on a regular basis throughout the day you are doing well. Unfortunately life and children don't come with easy to read leson plans and more often than not you end up making it up as you go along. I have subbed in classes like that before. It is not exacly a great expirence and you end up doing the best you can with what you have got. So I adapt and refine what I can when I can as often as I can. Flexibility is the key. Roll with what is given to you and then makeup what you don't have. I find that failure is not an option with kids. You can't just give up and go home when things don't go your way. Much as that might be tempting at the time. I am doing my best and I hope that it is enough. Until later.
